"Weber Portrait"

This commission was done from a couple of very small, old photos. One of the photos is posted below (please scroll down to see close ups of the portrait). This was the first portrait that I had done where there was to be more than one painting to make up the total portrait. Something else that was unique about this portrait was that the man and toddler walking was not done from any reference photos. The scene is entirely made up and done from "memories" or stories relayed to me by the customer as told to her by her husband. The portrait is of the customer's husband (as a young man and as a toddler) with his father, (who, unfortunately lost his battle with cancer several years ago).
The portrait was done as a birthday surprise for him because unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot of photos of his father. I hope it brings back wonderful memories for him and he will treasure it always.
