"Aunt Beronican's Cowboy"16"x20" Oil on Canvas NFSThis painting is based on a photograph that I took of my nephew, Gavin. On this particular day, I was walking out to check on the horses and the two bull calves that the kids were raising and I caught Gavin climbing over the fence with all of his cowboy garb on. After questioning him a bit, I found out that he was planning on climbing over the fence and trying to climb on one of those calves. Both of the calves had been raised from a bottle and were very tame but were pretty good size by now and had been weaned for awhile. I tried to explain to him how they probably wouldn't be so tame after he jumped onto one of their backs. It took quite a bit of talking to talk him out of his little "idea". Instead I got him to pose for me and took his picture several times, and promised to take him horseback riding and that seemed to be just as good to him. « Prev Original   Next Original »Back to Originals |
